Lucio Ivaldi
Conductor, composer and pianist
He studied at the Santa Cecilia Conservatory in Rome, earning diplomas in Composition, Choral Music and Choral Conducting, Piano, and Music Education. He graduated with honors in Philosophy from La Sapienza University of Rome, defending a thesis in historical musicology. He also completed a postgraduate specialization program at Tor Vergata University of Rome. In addition, he attended numerous advanced courses with distinguished teachers in choral conducting, musicology, and composition. He has published a wide range of works, including compositions for vocal and instrumental music as well as musicological studies. His work as a composer has received several distinctions, including a Special Mention at the 1991 Music for Film Competition of the Accademia Musicale Chigiana and a national scholarship awarded by SIAE. His catalogue includes approximately thirty vocal and instrumental compositions, performed on various occasions, as well as musicological articles published in several journals. He founded several ensembles in Rome, including the Diego Carpitella Polyphonic Choir, the Symphonia Choir, the Symphonia Vocal Ensemble, and the instrumental ensemble of the Diapente Association. He has organized concert series and performed in concerts throughout Italy and abroad. He serves as a member of the Board of Directors of the Regional Choral Association of Lazio (ARCL) and is President of the Diapente Cultural Association. He is Professor of Choral Conducting for Music Education and teaches Early Music at the Licinio Refice Conservatory in Frosinone.
