Stefano Perrotta (b. 1997) began studying the organ at the age of eleven under the guidance of Maestro Fabio Paiano. After graduating with highest honors, distinction, and special mention from the Umberto Giordano Conservatory of Music in Foggia, where he studied with Francesco Di Lernia, he continued his postgraduate training at the Hochschule für Musik Mainz (Germany) under the renowned organist and professor Gerhard Gnann. An active concert performer, Perrotta has appeared at numerous internationally acclaimed festivals, including Organ’Aria, Roma Festival Barocco, the Salento Organ Festival, Suono delle Pietre, Eventi d’Organo, Musica in Città (Campobasso), the Armoniosamente Festival in Bologna, and Padova Urbs Organi. He has also performed internationally in Oslo, Landvik, and Grimstad (Norway); Toulouse (France); and in numerous German cities, including Mainz, Berlin, Cologne, Freiburg, Staufen, Bad Kreuznach, Wiesbaden, Flörsheim am Main, Bad Ems, Butzbach, and Darmstadt. In 2023, he was selected for the Junge Talente 2023 nomination, recognizing him among the twelve most promising young musical talents active in Germany. As part of this distinction, he performed twice on the historic Hildebrandt organ of St. Wenceslas Church (Wenzelkirche) in Naumburg, the celebrated instrument designed and inaugurated by Johann Sebastian Bach. Perrotta is also active as a continuo player, collaborating with numerous soloists and ensembles, including the Due Voci Trio with Sara Gouzy and Kris Garfitt, the Orchestra Mediterranea, the orchestras of Markuskirche Butzbach and Marienkirche Bingen, as well as the Mäzenaten Orchestra under the direction of Elisabeth Scholl. He has received numerous awards, including First Prize at the 8th International Competition “Gli Organi Storici del Basso Friuli”, Second Prize at the Feith International Organ Competition (Germany), the Audience Prize at the Rino Benedet International Organ Competition in Bibione, Third Prize at the Petrus de Simone Organ Competition, and the Jury Prize at the Malta International Organ Competition. Alongside his concert career, Perrotta is actively engaged in recording projects. His discography includes Sixteen Seasons, recorded as continuo player in a project combining works by Richter, Vivaldi, Glass, and Piazzolla; Mainz Orgelfacetten, featuring the historic Oberlinger organ of Bonifazkirche Mainz; and Organi Storici a San Severo. He is currently Professor of Organ at the Stanislao Giacomantonio Conservatory of Music in Cosenza, Italy.
